TMR MODULAR BUILDING PROJECT
Queensland Government's Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is upgrading many of its roadside rest areas and truck stops. These sites typically have toilets, shelters, picnic benches and basic facilities allowing drivers to have a rest while on a long drive.
TMR selected Ecoflo's 903 model rest stop buildings as a basic design for toilets using a combination of composting toilets, mains services and dry vaults. A total of 14 buildings were supplied between May and September 2021. Ecoflo scaled up production to meet TMR's order and timing needs, running two shifts per day and some weekend work to make sure all buildings were delivered on schedule.

The light-weight buildings are delivered to site pre-fabricated. Installation was generally possible within three days from the slab curing until the building was finished.
Ecoflo's proven composting toilet design works safely in areas with no power, no water and no sewerage system. Other clients include the Department of Defence, National Parks, Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and numerous idigenous and wetlands authorities.
